Whether you are staying in one of our luxury catered chalets or self catered apartments in Chatel we provide help and advice on lift passes, equipment hire, lessons and childcare to be sure you make the right choice and get the most out of your ski holiday in Chatel, Portes Du Soleil.
You will find below information which we hope you will find useful. A few weeks before you arrive in Chatel we will contact you to discuss your requirements and then pre book them for you. Your lift passes will be ready and waiting for you on arrival, your equipment will be reserved and waiting to collect and all lessons pre booked. Lift PassesTo give maximum flexibility there is a wide range of lift passes available for Chatel and the Portes Du Soleil area. For beginners we recommend the Chatel lift pass and for those who are more experienced the Portes du Soleil pass covers every lift in the whole Portes Du Soleil area. There are good discounts for children, teenagers and seniors.
For all lift passes lasting at least 3 days you will get the “hands free” lift pass, these are great and mean as you use the various lifts your pass can remain safely in your pocket at all times. For both Chatel and the Portes Du Soleil area there are many different options which we will gladly talk you through. To save you valuable time when you arrive, we will pre-purchase all the lift passes you require and have them waiting for you in the chalet. All passes should be paid for in the resort in Euros.

Equipment HireAll the equipment that you need can be hired locally in Chatel. If you let us know what you require on your booking form we will pre-book everything you need. We will accompany you to the hire shop in the resort to ensure that you are kitted out with the right equipment. There is a wide range of skis and snowboards available and all should be paid for in the resort in Euros. Guests of Mountain Air Holidays will receive a 10% discount off all equipment hire.

Ski School / Private Lessons We can pre-book both skiing and boarding lessons for you using our local English speaking ski school or private instructors. You can choose from a full week's course, learning in a group of a similar ability, or you may prefer lessons either individual one-to-one or in a small family group.
Each morning we will provide transport to your meeting point and collect you at the end of the day (except Wednesday). As with your equipment and lift passes it is important that you let us know in advance what lessons you require and these will be pre-booked for you.
Private Lessons: with one of our team of English speaking instructors.
The advantage of private lessons is quality and flexibility. It is possible to book a 2 hour one to one lesson or a private mini group of up to 6 people and anything in between. All of our instructors are fully qualified and speak good English. A 2 hour private lesson for 2 people will cost around £50 per person and for a group of 4 around £30 per person. Ski School is a great way to learn particularly for adult beginners and children. The ski school has around 19 bilingual instructors and has a maximum of 10 people per group.
